ENERGY FEATURES
Your home can actually save you money, if it's a Compass Pointe Home!

Others consider our features expensive upgrades. We insist they come standard. When other builders say, "No way," Compass Pointe says, "No sweat!"

With these energy-efficient features, your energy bill is no sweat!

Trane 15 SEER Rated Air Conditioning System
Builders traditionally use units with a SEER rating of 13. We've upgraded to 15 to give you the highest quality and most efficient air conditioning unit available. These AC units are also rated the second highest for least amount of repairs. It's important to Compass Pointe that you keep cool and are confident in the integrity of the units we provide.

The Honeywell T8000 Digital Thermostat
Program this once, and you're done. Rather than paying to keep your house cool when no one is there, set your thermostat to automatically change to an energy-saving temperature during specific times of day or night. When used as directed, these programmable thermostats can save you big money on your annual heating and cooling costs.

TechShield by Louisiana-Pacific
TechShield is a radiant barrier made of renewable materials that most builders consider an expensive upgrade. With a Compass Pointe Home, they come standard. This product reflects heat off the roof and blocks up to 97% from entering a home's attic. This can decrease your heating and cooling costs by as much as twenty percent.

OSB Sheathing Wrap
An innovative building material and the world's most popular structural panel, we use nothing but the best in building your new home - OSB Sheathing. Each Compass Pointe home is built with a strong, durable, ½ inch OSB board on its exterior with a water-sealing house wrap that allows moisture to get out, but does not allow air or moisture in. This adds tremendous strength to the home and more insulation.

Owens Corning Ridge Vents & James Hardie Soffit Vents
This balanced ventilation system works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption. It allows outside air to flow naturally upward and out of the attic, prevents moisture from becoming trapped inside, and promotes a drier, cooler attic. Also, James Hardie continuous perforated soffit creates superior attic ventilation. By working in harmony with nature, we make your home more comfortable and efficient.

Low E Double-Paned Windows
Windows provide natural light, yet they can also account for up to thirty percent of the energy consumed in a typical house. We are happy to install windows that provide year-round savings and comfort for your home. These "smart" windows provide optimal performance by selectively filtering the sun's energy in summer and reducing heat loss in the winter.

DOW Poly-Seal
Air leakage through holes, gaps and cracks is the single biggest cause of heating and cooling loss in a typical home. They're found around windows and doorframes, electrical outlets, plumbing lines, under siding and many other places. When you add them all up, it's about the same as having a four square foot opening, letting air leak out of the house- air that you're paying for. We work diligently to seal all interior and exterior cracks to ensure that your dollars and cents aren't escaping.

Owens Corning R-38 Ceiling Insulation
A higher R-value means greater insulating power. We use high-density R-38 insulation to ensure maximum energy savings. This insulation makes your house more comfortable by helping to maintain a uniform temperature throughout. It also makes walls, ceilings and floors cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

2" Faux Wood Blinds throughout home
Even the smallest touches can make a big difference! Shading the sun's rays from entering a home's windows can save up to seventy percent in energy costs. To ensure maximum efficiency, we've replaced the one-inch aluminum mini-blind with stylish and effective two-inch faux wood blinds. These offer more resistance to sunlight and provide flexible shading.

Job-Built Thresholds
We weather strip all doors and install all thresholds by hand for better sealing than factory-installed weather stripping. Not only does this block the pathway for unwelcome insects and critters, but also prevents air infiltration and keeps unwanted moisture from entering your home.

Trane Furnace
Superior energy-efficient technology means the Trane Furnace typically uses only 10% of the electricity of a standard furnace. With this system, you can control both temperature and humidity levels, greatly increasing the comfort level inside your home. With operating sound levels barely above a whisper and temperature and humidity controls, the Trane Furnace has never made your home more comfortable.
